My old friend Lise from Aarhus has just moved to Copenhagen to do an internship as part of her studies at Aarhus architecture school. My other friend Sarah and I went to visit her in her new apartment at Sluseholmen some weeks ago. We hung out and talked about old days and ofcourse I could’nt resist to sneak inside her wardrobe :) I also asked her some questions.

Q:What is your favorite kind of design?
A: Less is more as someone said… I like simple basic design, without too many details.
Simplicity is beautiful, and to me often a stronger look…
Q:Where do you get your inspiration from?
A:People around me..
Q:What is your favorite shop?
A: GERARD (Via de’ Pecori 34 Florence, Italy) is one of my favorites. Whether you buy clothes for special occasions or jeans for everyday use, if you buy them there you will add a touch of originality to your wardrobe.
Q:What’s your favorite item?
A: My stunning Chanel jacket-  it will follow me till the day I die :)
Q: What are your favorite songs at the moment?
A: I think “LA ROUX” are amazing - specially while dancing!
My favorite song would be “The Balcony” by Rumour Said Fire… over and over again…

picinterview

How old are you and where are you from ?

I am 26 years old and originally from Aarhus

Where have you been studying?

I studied fashion print at Central Saints Martins

What prize did you win?

I won the L’Oréal Professionel Young Designer of the Year Award

How long have you been designing?

For as long as I can remember

How does the design process work for you?

I always start out with gathering inspiration that initially is often very abstract. Normally I begin with exploring a certain mood and feeling that provides me with an idea of what direction I want to go in when looking for my visual research for the collection. Funnily enough, the prints are always the last thing I do.

What are you inspired by?

I’m inspired by anything that invokes a feeling in me, be it books, music, films, art. What always interests me is taking the known and placing it in an unknown context. (more…)

dariaathome2

Supermodel Daria Werbowy was born in the Ukraine but moved to Canada when she was three years old. Today she is 25 years old and lives in Brooklyn, New York. She is renowned for her feline eyes and her insouciant style.

Werbowy lives in a former factory on the fifth floor loft in Williamsburg. Daria´s home could best be described as industrial meets decadent bohemian. Daria wanted a real old New Yorker house atmosphere, so she removed all the plaster lining on the walls. Werbowy´s style and her living space confirm her love of any kind of artistic expression, particularly paintings and music. In her bedroom she has placed her bed, according to feng shui rules, with the head facing east. Her home is inspired by her travels. She says everywhere she goes, she buys something new - She calls her home a “souvenir gallery”.

When she gets home, she likes to relax. She either draws or plays on her guitar; well at least she is trying…

- Daria´s enormous dressing room is just very enviable.

The pictures are from Australian Vogue March 2009.

edie

Edie Sedgwick was an American actress, socialite, model and heiress. She was one of Andy Warhol´s muses. She was a heroin addict, and she died because of that when she was only 28 years old. Despite that her style fascinates me!
