During Paris Fashion Week my friend and photographer Gianluca shot some of my outfits at my AirBnb apartment and around Paris. The photos and a interview about me is now online at GRAZIA.it. The article is in Italian, but I have added the interview in english below. I hope you like it? Many thanks to Gianluca and Sara at GRAZIA.it.

Fiona Jane, Founder & Creative Director at SPOTDING CLOSET, Blogger at www.spotding.com and occasional DJ at fashion events.
Tell us about your “fashion story” – When did you decide that you wanted to be in the fashion world?
I am 31 years old, Danish born with a mix of english and german roots. I lived in Copenhagen most of my life, but the last three years London have been my home base.
I always knew that I wanted to work with something creative and related to fashion. When I was little I loved playing “dress up” in my grandmother’s closet, and I also started early to sew my own clothes out of second-hand pieces – my dream was to become a designer! When I was 16 I started modelling and through my job I experienced the fashion industry behind-the-scene and got even more fascinated about fashion and style. After travelling as a model for a couple of years I started studying Design technology & business in Copenhagen and shortly after I created my blog in 2009. Alongside my blog I worked as a freelance stylist, arranged fashion events and dj’ed occasionally. Today I focus on SPOTDING CLOSET, which is a film concept where I feature inspiring women and their closet from around the world. I share these films on my blog alongside my style, inspiration and travel stories. I still DJ at fashion events in London and beyond – Fashion and music goes hand in hand for me!
How would you define your style?
It’s very eclectic and very depending on my mood and the weather really. I have always been very into to the 70’s period, but I like to play with different styles, work with silhouettes and mix vintage with modern pieces.
Which are your fav brands to wear?
Saint Laurent, Celine, Loewe, Dries van Noten, Issey Miyake, Stella McCartney, Marques Almeida, ASOS, Topshop, Freya Dalsjø, 2ndDay, Baum und Pferdgarten, Mark Kenly Domino Tan, Saks Potts, Acne, Carin Wester, House of Dagmar, BACK, Lala Berlin, ZARA and vintage bought on my travels or on eBay.
Where do you usually shop?
I mostly shop items on my blog where I collect my favourite things from online shops like Net-a-porter, Matchesfashion, Browns, ASOS & Topshop. I also like to shop on my travels, and that’s always a mix of high-street and high-end stores. I also love a good flea market and well-selected vintage shops.
Do you have a style icon you look up to?
I love these following women, their style and most of all their attitude: Françoise Hardy, Jane Birkin – Patti Smith, Jeanne Damas, Say Lou Lou, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Erin Wasson and Alexa Chung.
Do you have a beauty routine?
Not exactly, but I always remove make-up and use a moisturising cream. For beauty products I use various brands; No7 eye-make up remover, Clinique liquid facial soap mild, moisture surge & all about eyes serum, Ziaja day & night creme, Kiehl’s midnight recovery concentrate & over-night biological peel, Aesop body cleanser & balm, Bio-oil, Bjork & Berries body scrub and Moroccanoil intense hydrating hair mask
I always wear mascara – my favourite brands are Lancome, DIORshow, Rimmel and Loreal. I can’t live with out a concealer to keep my skin beautiful. I use MAC studiofinish concealer & Yves Saint latent touche eclat followed by MAC studio fix or bareMinerals golden fair. For parties I like to apply a black MAC or TOPSHOP eyeliner, CHANEL brown shaded eyeshadows and shiny highlighter on my cheeks with MAC’s soft & gentle mineralize skin finish. I also love to wear red lipstick from NARS, MAC or CHANEL, but then I keep my eyes more natural looking if I decide to do that. Either way!
Do you usually read or consult other websites or fashion blogs? if yes which are your favourites?
I like to check the following sites to keep myself updated: VOGUE, BOF, Space Matters, Makeitlast and then browse through instagram of course!
Which are the pieces you’ll suggest our reader to buy or wear for next Winter?
A long brown cashmere turtleneck from the Danish brand 2ndDay. I would also recommend to buy a “Fabric Shaver” on Amazon. It’s brilliant to remove fabric pills from knit-wear. This way they can all be recycled for next season and look as good as new!
The LOEWE puzzle bag, I’d like to add the medium size in tan and their super cool Filipa sunglasses!
The Vetements patchwork high-rise straight leg jeans or a pair of vintage Levis 501
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy creating films, learn about photography, reading books and travelling to Ibiza or Copenhagen!
Do you have any big project or dream for the future you’d like to share with us?
I have a couple of interesting projects in the pipeline, but the most special is my baby “SPOTDING CLOSET” which I have been working on for a while now. It’s my film project where I feature inspiring women and their closet’s from around the world. I have already shared 12 short films and I’ll start sharing a new one every month in 2016 – follow my blog www.spotding.com to see more!

It’s kind of hard to run a blog and have a full time job at the same time – quite a new thing for me, but I manage & I love it! I guess my body just got used to sleep less and be dead on the weekends. I’ve recently done a little interview with the Danish web shop Me & The Met and above you can read about some of my favorites. The web shop have a mix of Scandinavian & international brands such as Dagmar, Ganni, Vanessa Bruno, Filippa K, Gestuz & Designers Remix. I can’t take my eyes of that red Ganni dress. Let the shopping begin HERE!
I just found myself in the German magazine STEP taken during the recent Copenhagen Fashion Week SS14. I am wearing a clutch from Adax, vintage hat, Won Hundred dress and boots. Thank you for featuring me! x
My friends at Luellemag has featured a little article about Roskilde Festival with some of the best Danish blogs, including Spotding!
Thursday I’m going to Roskilde Festival, where I have been every year since 2007 and I always look forward to the unique atmosphere and the amazing concerts. Besides that, I love to observe people and see how creative people are with their clothing. I take pictures of people with inspiring outfits and the ones who stands out from the crowd. The images I share directly from the festival media area here on my blog. I have been unfortunate enough to be injured this weekend with my legs and therefore I need to keep calm. So unfortunately I won’t be attending as many concerts this year, but if I could I would at least go to the following: Monday: Disclosure, Vinnie Who. Friday: Of-Monsters and men, Rihanna, Crystal Castles, Simian Mobile Disco. Saturday: The National, When Saint Go Machine, Efterklang, and Iceage. Sunday: James Blake and Queens of the stone age.
Any suggestions to other concerts, I’d love to hear from you.
I hope you all will have a great festival, LOVE Fiona Jane
